Marilyn Lipton is a longtime financial executive who has headed the Citi Bank Network Management Group (BNM) since 2010. Responsible for managing relationships with agent banks, she emphasizes proper governance, transparency, and control of bank accounts held by Citi around the world. Marilyn Lipton’s responsibilities include setting up operational banking services for capital markets businesses and working with third-party banks and affiliates.

Responsible for 900 agent bank relationships and 700 legal vehicles across 146 markets, Ms. Lipton undertakes service reviews and pricing negotiations and delivers regulatory support. Her Global BNM team performs due diligence related to bank networks that hold client assets and serves as a primary escalation point when issues arise. One of her focuses is mentoring future leaders, as she is a strong advocate of building a workforce that is inclusive and diverse.

Ms. Lipton joined Citigroup (formerly known as Smith Barney Shearson) in the early 1990s as a senior accountant, where she was tasked with analysis of monthly cost of carry and interest revenue across a range of products, from mortgage backed securities to corporate bonds. She also served as a liaison between traders and senior management. A fitness enthusiast, she enjoys activities such as skiing and running in her free time.
